Financial support for the Chronic Disease Management & Healthy Ageing (CDMHA) Program

As a primary health care nurse, you deserve the best in professional development and support. If you're looking for financial support with the CDMHA program fee, the following options are available:

Rural and Remote Nurses

Your State or Territory Rural Workforce Agency administers the Health Workforce Scholarship Program which provides scholarships and bursaries to help health professionals in rural and remote Australia retain and enhance their skills, capacity and scope of practice. 

APNA First Nations CDMHA Bursary 

Bursary applications for the November 2025 intake have now closed, and successful applicants have been notified

The CDMHA First Nations Nurse Program Fee Bursary is intended to support the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nurses (Enrolled Nurses, Registered Nurses and Nurse Practitioners) in the Nursing in Primary Health Care (NiPHC) Chronic Disease Management and Healthy Ageing (CDMHA) program.  A limited number of bursary places are available in each CDMHA program intake.   U

Primary Health Networks (PHNs) 

Primary Health Networks (PHNs) across Australia may offer funding and support for nurses to access various professional development programs. 

PHN Sponsored Places available in the November 2025 CDMHA intake:

  • Hunter New England and Central Coast PHN is providing fully funded places for eligible nurses in MMM3 - MMM5 locations to join the November 2025 intake.
  • Western Queensland PHN is providing fully funded places for eligible nurses in MMM3 - MMM7 locations to join the November 2025 intake.

PHN-sponsored places are strictly limited, so don't delay - REGISTER HERE.

Employer Support

Your employer may be able to offer financial support for their staff to complete professional development programs like CDMHA.

Steps to Request Funding: 

  • Contact Your Workplace: Reach out to your direct manager, practice manager, or HR department to enquire about available support for professional development.

  • Submit a Request: You may need to submit a formal request for financial support by email or letter. We have created an easy-to-use template to help get you started.
