School Nurses Handbook
APNA developed this handbook to support school nurses. It serves as a comprehensive tool, guiding them in best practice guidelines, evidence-based practices and providing essential resources.

Sharing your experience of taking part in an APNA program will help other nurses and their employers understand the benefits of joining. Our programs include:
Reading about the experience of a nurse who has already participated in a program is usually just what's needed to take the next step and apply!
(If you are a student nurse who took part in our Clinical Placement Programs and wish to share your experience, please email placements@apna.asn.au first.)
You can share your story in any way that feels comfortable for you.
We encourage you to share a photo to go alongside your story. You can take this on your smartphone.
We also welcome photos that have already been taken, for example by your workplace - just make sure you have the photographer's consent.
Here are some tips for writing down your experience.
Your story may be featured in part or in full on APNA’s website, social media channels, newsletters, our membership magazine Primary Times and other promotional materials.
We may also use excerpts for presentations, reports, and advocacy efforts to highlight the impact of APNA’s programs.
If there are any channels you would prefer not to be included on, please let us know.
We will ask you to sign our consent form. You can choose to withdraw your consent at any time.
If you’re interested in sharing your experience, please speak to your program team or email our communications manager Dani Neal.
