Primary health care is any medical service that is provided outside the four walls of a hospital, including general practice, aged care, schools, community health and other primary health care settings. Primary health care nurses play a critical role in keeping people healthy, providing proactive care and health promotion to keep Australians well.
Patrice Cafferky has stepped down from the APNA Board.
It is with regret APNA has received Patrice Cafferky’s resignation as a Board Director. Patrice remains committed to APNA’s vision for nurses working in all areas of primary care in Australia.
Patrice has taken this decision as part of changes to her professional commitments, which includes multiple roles such as Board Member for Brisbane South PHN, Chair of Peach Tree Perinatal Wellness and APNA’s representative on Queensland Health’s QLD Clinical Senate.
Patrice was elected to the APNA Board in May 2021 and APNA thanks Patrice for her contribution during this time.
This creates a vacancy on the APNA Board and will be put to an election in this year’s APNA Board election which will begin with nominations in April.
