Australian Government announces ongoing funding for APNA

On 8 May 2018, the Australian Government announced it will help strengthen the role of nurses in delivering primary health to meet the future health care needs of the Australian community.

As part of this announcement, ongoing funding for the Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association was included in the Budget. This funding will enable APNA to help nurses move into primary health care, test new ways for nurses to deliver care and better educate nurses about primary health care.

Karen Booth, APNA, President advised that “APNA is delighted with the funding announcement and we commend the Government for recognising the important role that nurse in primary care play now and into the future.”
