Advocating for primary health care nurses in the new Parliament

With a new Parliament, this week APNA is back again advocating for primary health care nurses with decision-makers in Canberra.
It was great to meet with pharmacists, dietitians, podiatrists, and other health professionals to talk about the context for reform in the new Parliament, and meet with a number of MPs and staff.
Changes like nurse prescribing and the scope of practice review are the result of APNA members, other nurses and nursing bodies coming together to push for change that can improve health outcomes for everyone. But we know that nurses can do so much more – starting with enabling everyone to work to their full scope of practice.
That’s why we’re getting started right away in advocating for change that will enable nurses to do more, for a healthier Australia.
