The Festival of Nursing has always been about bringing nurses together. But in 2026, we’re taking it to the next level: it will be bolder and more practical than ever, designed to deliver the CPD every nurse needs. Plus, gain leadership skills and fresh thinking to help shape our profession’s future.
Primary health care is any medical service that is provided outside the four walls of a hospital, including aged care, community health, general practice, custodial, schools and many other primary health care settings. Australia's 104,000+ primary health care nurses play a critical role in disease prevention and control to keep people healthy. They provide proactive care and health promotion to keep Australians well.

The National Asthma Council Australia (NAC) and Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA) extend their heartfelt thanks to Julianne Badenoch for her outstanding contribution as a Nominee Director on the National Asthma Council Australia Board.
Julianne has served with dedication and expertise for 12 years, helping to advance asthma care and support across the nation. Her governance experience, leadership, and advocacy have played a vital role in shaping policies and resources that benefit both clinicians and patients.
Julianne on her 12 years of service, “I believe I have contributed to the strong governance of the NAC and to the recognition of the high value nurses have in the education, diagnosis and treatment of asthma in Australia.”
Julianne’s 12 years mark an incredible chapter of service and the end of the maximum term for the Board.
We are delighted to announce that Mia Dhillon will take on the directorship role at the Annual General Meeting on 4 December, continuing APNA’s commitment to improving respiratory health outcomes.
