Dr John Litt is a recipient of the RACGP Lifetime Achievement Award, a Lung Foundation Ambassador for Cancer South Australia, and the 2016 RACGP Rose-Hunt Award Winner.
John is an academic general practitioner and public health physician. He was an associate professor for general practice and teaching coordinator in the Flinders University Doctor of Medicine program until he recently retired. His teaching activities focused on coordinating the teaching of general practice and arranging placement for medical students in the Flinders University Medical Course.
His major clinical and research interests are in prevention and its implementation. He has over 100 refereed publications (journal articles, book and book chapters) including co-authorship of the Australian General Practice Smoking Cessation Guidelines and its updates. He has been the leading driver of the RACGP Green Book, Putting Prevention into Practice an evidence-based review of effective implementation strategies for prevention activities in the general practice setting. The third edition of this monograph was published in May 2018."
