The Building Dementia Practice series is designed to improve your knowledge, skills and confidence in dementia practice and provide you with tools and resources to work collaboratively in supporting a timely diagnosis of dementia in primary care. The online learning module will encourage you to lead practice change by following newly developed dementia practice guidelines that promote an evidence based approach to dementia detection, diagnosis and support in a primary care setting.

The module has been developed as part of the Supporting General Practitioners and General Practice Nurses in the Timely Diagnosis of Dementia Project.
The author of this module is Kelly Burns. Kelly is Course Developer at Alzheimer’s Australia Vic and brings to this role over 20 years of clinical experience working as a registered nurse and Credentialed mental health nurse in aged person’s mental health and Cognitive Dementia and Memory service. As a Cognition Clinical Nurse consultant Kelly led significant practice change in assessment and support for older people with dementia and delirium in acute care. Kelly is the author of the recently released practice guidelines ‘4 Steps to Building Dementia Practice in Primary Care'.
