Information for education providers

What are APNA’s Clinical Placement Programs?

With Australia’s aging population and declining health, it is vital that we have a strong and accessible primary health care system that keeps people well and out of hospital. However, there are serious workforce shortages in primary health, including aged care.

Historically, it was challenging for universities and tertiary education providers to arrange placements for student nurses in primary health care. But then the APNA's Clinical Placement Programs came along.

APNA champions the role of primary health care nurses and shines a light on primary health care and aged care for student nurses considering which career path to choose upon graduating.

How can you support the next generation of primary health care nurses?

We work closely with education providers such as yours to provide high-quality placements with clear learning outcomes and expert supervision from experienced primary health care nurses.

With your support, we can future-proof the primary health care nursing workforce.
