Primary Health Care Student Nurse Placement Program

February/March 2024

Join APNA in creating the next generation of primary health care nurses

With a predicted shortfall in nurses working in primary health care in the coming years, we need to act now to make working in this exciting and vibrant sector the first choice for graduates.

This is why APNA launched their Primary Health Care Student Nurse Placement Program. They work with education providers and primary health care workplaces to offer high-quality placements for undergraduate and postgraduate students, showcasing the rewarding and varied career paths a primary health care nurse can take.

And it works – seven in ten students who complete placements with APNA say they will consider a career outside hospital settings on graduating.

APNA is looking for experienced nurses to join the program and host student nurses in their workplaces.

You will have APNA's full support and access to education and professional development, and your workplace will be paid $50 per student per day. APNA will organise everything for you, allowing you to focus on sharing your know-how with the next generation of primary health care nurses.

APNA is hosting two information sessions on Zoom where you can find out more about the program and what it involves.

  • Monday, 4 March at 2 pm AEDT Register

Aged Care Student Nurse Placement Program

Newsletter/Website

February/March 2024

Help futureproof your aged care nursing workforce

APNA is looking for aged care homes in Western Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast to join our Aged Care Student Nurse Placement Program.

By hosting student nurses in your workplace, you are showcasing the opportunities working in this exciting sector offers nurses early in their careers, making aged care their first choice upon graduating.

You won't do it alone - APNA is there every step of the way, organising everything and even providing an experienced Clinical Nurse Facilitator to supervise placements. This allows you to focus on caring for your residents and the benefits hosting brings.

Visit our website and register for one of our webinars in early March to learn more about the program.

If you have any other questions, please email placements@apna.asn.au.
