Research and Innovation

APNA aims to advance the field of primary health care (PHC) through several avenues, including contributions to curriculum development (both undergraduate and postgraduate) and actively building the research focus across our teams to enhance nurse influence in health research and increase the presence of PHC nursing in clinical literature.

We are increasing engagement with research partners and broadening collaborative efforts to publish and promote nurse research. Our goal is to integrate the latest research into APNA's education and policy endeavours.

The key focus areas include contributions to curriculum development (both undergraduate and postgraduate), actively building the research, data systems, and evaluation capacity and focus across our organisation, raising awareness of the work and needs of PHC nurses, enhancing nurse influence in health research, and increasing the presence of PHC nursing in clinical literature.

As an MRFF-eligible organisation, we are increasing engagement with research partners and broadening collaborative efforts to publish and promote nursing research. Our goal is to integrate the latest research into APNA's education and policy endeavours in the future.

The Research and Innovation team is led by General Manager Lisa Collison, and supported by an expert team including Monitoring and Evaluation Manager Dr Danny Hills.
