Primary health care is any medical service that is provided outside the four walls of a hospital, including general practice, aged care, schools, community health and other primary health care settings. Primary health care nurses play a critical role in keeping people healthy, providing proactive care and health promotion to keep Australians well.
Currently most student nurses only experience hospital placements throughout their studies, and by default, choose a career in a hospital.
APNA champions the roles of primary health care nurses and knows the vital role they play in keeping Australians healthy. By hosting a student nurse at your workplace, you can help showcase the amazing and important care provided in primary health.
